Inter Milan have suffered another setback as they announced the injury to midfielder Federico Dimarco in their match against Palermo on Saturday.

The 25-year-old, who has been with Inter since joining the club in 2018, was injured during a training session and is currently undergoing medical treatment at the club's medical centre.

"We are very sorry for Federico Dimarco," Inter president Luciano Spalletti said in a statement. "He has been training every day and he is doing well, but we need him back in the team soon."

Dimarco, who joined Inter from Napoli, has become one of the most promising young players in Serie A this season,Bundesliga Express scoring four goals in 14 appearances for the club.

"I am very disappointed that he will be out for some time, but I hope that he can return to the squad soon," said coach Marco Verratti after the match.

The club also announced that defender Davide Rebuffi has been suspended indefinitely following his dismissal from the team last week due to a physical altercation.

Rebuffi, who was also part of the squad that beat Juventus last weekend, was involved in an argument with a teammate during training sessions earlier this month.

Inter also confirmed that midfielder Andrea Gattuso has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury sustained in training.

"Gattuso is still recovering from a knee injury and it is not clear when he will be able to return to full fitness," Inter head coach Marcello Lippi said.

Overall, Inter remain hopeful that Dimarco will be ready to play for them again before the end of the season. The club also plans to explore other options for the summer transfer window if needed.
